Veteran Land Benefits: Only Texas and Alaska?

Every prepper needs a piece of land to bug out to. If you happen to be a Veteran, why not buy some Veteran Land through your State Veteran Benefits? I started researching for this post, assuming that all of our fifty states had Veteran Land programs. I planned to list each state and a brief overview of the benefits that they offered. But what I found was that only two states, Alaska and Texas have specific land buying programs. This is what Alaska offers their Veterans: The Alaska Veterans Land Discount Program allows certain veterans a 25% discount on the purchase [...]

You’ve decided that you want to keep chickens. There are a few things you need to do before you bring the little darlings home. Most of this information can be found in a wonderful online forum called BackyardChickens.com. The information below is a summary of more detailed information BYC has. Check city ordinances. This should be the first thing you do if you live within city limits. Many municipalities are now allowing backyard chickens but there may be some restrictions such as the number in your flock, no roosters, etc. Check with your HOA. That being said, if you can afford or a acquire a more modern PKG then you need to do so. Once acquired you need to become very familiar with its operation and comfortable with its usage. I Need to be a Prepper!

I recently finished a book called One Second After by author William R. Forstchen. Holy crap!! I will honestly never look at our world the same. Sure, I know that we are way too dependent on technology. But I really had no idea how quickly society would break down after the electricity goes out. Now, I know that the book is fiction. I know this is one man's point of view (with substantial research). But if even half of what he described happens, my family and I are SCREWED! I'm not a prepper. But we need to make some major [...]
